Discover the history of Caribbean cuisine with Lelani Lewis!

How can food tell stories of colonialism, resistance and freedom? In this hands-on workshop, chef, food stylist and culinary activist Lelani Lewis invites you to explore the rich history of Caribbean cuisine.

Together, we’ll prepare and taste a selection of dishes, discovering how enslaved and colonised communities in the Dutch Caribbean created their own culinary traditions despite scarcity and the conditions imposed upon them. Food is more than just nourishment: it carries stories of survival, identity and self-determination. There’ll also be time to share ideas and reflect together.

Come cook, taste and hear the stories behind the food!
