Etty Hillesum schreef op 11 augustus 1943: “Later, wanneer ik niet meer wonen zal op een ijzeren brits in een land, waar prikkeldraad omheen is, dan wil ik een lampje boven m’n bed hebben, zodat het ‘s nachts licht om me heen is, wanneer ik dat wil”.

Wat zijn jouw ervaringen en gedachtes over vrijheid? Schrijf ze op en deels ze tijdens het schrijfcafé.

Programma
Deze creatieve bijeenkomst begint eerst met een korte lezing over Etty Hillesum en haar denken over vrijheid tijdens de bezetting en vervolging. Hierna neem je zelf de pen ter hand en laat je je ideeën en gedachtes stromen.

Het schrijfcafé vindt twee keer plaats. De eerste ronde is Nederlandstalig van 13.00-14.30 uur. De tweede ronde is Engelstalig en van 15.00-16.30 uur.

Beide rondes vinden plaats in de ZB Middelburg. Dit schrijfcafé is gratis toegankelijk voor bibliotheekleden en niet-bibliotheekleden.

Freedom writers in the Writing Café

Write about freedom on the 3rd of April!

Etty Hillesum wrote on the 11th of August 1943: ‘’Later, when I will not be living on an iron bedframe in a land which is surrounded by barbed wire, I want a little lamp above my bed, so that it will be light in the evenings, whenever I want it to be.’’

What are your experiences and thoughts on freedom? Write them down and share them during the writing café!

This creative gathering begins with a short lecture about Etty Hillesum and her thoughts about freedom during the occupation of the Netherlands and persecution of the Jews. After this you can take up a pen and let your thoughts and ideas flow freely.

The writing café will happen in two rounds. The first round is in Dutch from 13.00 untill 14.30. The second round is in English and will be from 15.00 till 16.30. Both rounds will be in ZB library of Zeeland, Middelburg. The writing café is free to attend, you can sign up through this page.
