Come join a safe, open, and relaxed group discussion on death and dying – along with some tea or coffee and a piece of cake.
Death Cafés were founded in 2011 by Jon Underwood based on the work of Bernard Crettaz, and are free events organized by volunteers who facilitate not-for-profit, democratic discussions on death.
The objective is ‘to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives,’ and in no way aims to lead participants to any conclusion, product, or course of action. It is also not intended to be a form of grief counselling, but rather an organic, confidential conversation amongst (usually) strangers.
People from all walks of life are welcome to not only explore thoughts on death, but in doing so perhaps understand and appreciate just a little more what it means to be alive.
