This presentation explores the significance of communal relationships in shaping the ethics of care within various African philosophical traditions. Pius Mosima argues that caring is not merely an individualistic endeavor but a collective responsibility rooted in the interconnectedness of community members.

Pius examines  concepts such as Ubuntu and relational personhood  to highlight how these frameworks inform practices of care and worry for others’ well-being.
He draw on examples from different African cultures to illustrate how communal values influence ethical decision-making, emphasizing that caring extends beyond immediate family ties to encompass broader social networks.
