In het kader van de AI-Parade gaat Dr. Nathan Wildman tijdens deze meet up dieper in op het gebruik van artificial intelligence in de kunst. Is door AI gemaakte kunst te beschouwen als ‘diefstal’ van andere kunstwerken? En hoe staat dit in relatie tot de discussie of AI-kunst überhaupt wel kunst genoemd mag worden?

Over de spreker
Nathan Wildman is assistant professor Filosofie aan Tilburg University en lid van TiLPS (Tilburg Center for Moral Philosophy, Epistemology, and Philosophy of Science). TiLPS is een erkend centrum voor filosofisch onderzoek naar morele en wetenschappelijke praktijken, vaak in dialoog met andere disciplines. Zijn onderzoek focust zich op fundamenten van modaliteit, de aard van fictie en fictieve waarheid en de esthetiek van interactieve ficties. Hij heeft een aantal publicaties op zijn naam staan, onder andere in Analysis, Philosophical Studies en het Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism.

As part of the AI-Parade, dr. Nathan Wildman will discuss the use of artificial intelligence in art during this meet up. Can AI-made art be considered 'theft' from other works of art? And how does this relate to the discussion of whether AI art can be called art at all?

Nathan Wildman is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Tilburg University, and a member of the Tilburg Center for Moral Philosophy, Epistemology, and Philosophy of Science (TiLPS). His research focuses on the foundations of modality, the nature of fiction & fictional truth, and the aesthetics of interactive fictions. He has published in a number of venues, including Analysis, Philosophical Studies, and the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism. Currently, he is preparing monographs on voyeur gaming and the limits of fictionality.
